Current Look at Prosecution in Ulster County (Online)

Presented in coordination with American Association of University Women [AAUW]- Kingston NY chapter and League of Women Voters MidHudson, both non-partisan entities.
This public meeting is to learn about the current state of prosecution in the Ulster County Court System by conversation with District Attorney Dave Clegg.
During his campaign the LWV MidHudson hosted a candidate forum to discuss what would make this tenure as a DA so impactful to our judicial system. There was a great deal of public focus on the Bail Reform legislation and how it would be interpreted by the court and put into effect with the participating Police and Sheriff’s offices. During the tight election, League members were witness to the ballot recounts. This program is an opportunity to check in now and see how this first year saw theory put into practice, to learn about who is collaborating in making change, and what are the hurdles and opportunities in the justice system that citizens should better understand.
